LSV/Golfcart Rules

What is an LSV?
A Low-Speed Vehicle (LSV) is a street-legal golf cart equipped with safety features such as seatbelts, lights, mirrors, and registration. LSVs may only be driven on roads with speed limits of 35 MPH or less. Standard golf carts are not permitted on public roads.
Drivers must have a valid driver’s license, be 25+, and have a signed waiver on file.
All children age 5 and under must be in a car seat or booster seat.
All passengers must have a seat and wear a seatbelt. One person per seat.
No open alcohol containers are allowed in the vehicle.
No driving after dark or in the rain.
Do not leave the vehicle outside overnight or in the rain.
  • It is illegal to drive on Highway 98, sidewalks, bike paths, or any roadway over 35 MPH.
  • You may drive through Rosemary Beach and Alys Beach, but parking is not permitted.
  • You may only cross Highway 98 at a 4-way intersection at 30Avenue.
